Veterans Acupuncture & Integrative Care

Supporting U.S. Veterans Through Non-Drug, Integrative Care

At Demei Acupuncture Clinic, we are honored to support U.S. veterans with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine services focused on pain relief, functional recovery, and overall well-being.

Our approach emphasizes non-pharmacologic, individualized care, delivered in a respectful and confidential clinical environment.

Services Commonly Requested by Veterans

Veterans seek care for a wide range of conditions. Common areas of support include:

  • Chronic musculoskeletal pain (back, neck, shoulder, joint pain)

  • Sciatic pain and nerve-related discomfort

  • Post-injury recovery and mobility support

  • Headaches and migraines

  • Sleep disturbance and fatigue

  • Stress-related physical tension

  • General wellness and functional maintenance

Care is tailored to each individual’s condition and medical history.

Experience Treating Veterans

During my clinical internship at Five Branches University. I had the opportunity to work with many U.S. veterans presenting with chronic pain and functional conditions.

Clinical Experience Example

One veteran patient presented with persistent sciatic pain lasting over ten years, significantly affecting daily mobility and quality of life.

Through a structured course of care that included acupuncture and guided therapeutic movement (Qigong-based exercises), the patient reported gradual improvement in symptoms. After approximately ten treatment sessions, he described sustained pain relief and meaningful functional improvement.

Following this course of care, the patient continued to seek treatment for other general health concerns, reflecting a strong therapeutic relationship and trust developed through the clinical process.

This example is shared to illustrate clinical experience. Individual results vary, and outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Veteran Courtesy & Scheduling Considerations

As a courtesy to those who have served, we strive to provide veterans with thoughtful scheduling and service considerations, including:

  • Priority appointment scheduling, with efforts to accommodate visits within 1–2 business days when availability allows

  • Courtesy pricing considerations on select non-insurance, self-pay services, such as herbal medicine or wellness-related items

These considerations apply only to services or products not billed to insurance and are offered at the clinic’s discretion.

Insurance-covered services are billed in accordance with applicable coverage guidelines and policies.

Working With VA & Community Care Referrals

We welcome veterans who are seeking care through:

  • VA Community Care referrals

  • TriWest Healthcare Alliance (when applicable)

  • Other approved referral pathways

If a referral is pending or coverage is still being verified, self-pay options may be discussed when appropriate.

We are happy to coordinate care and provide documentation as required within applicable guidelines.
